Update on MDE's Accountability System for Grading Schools & Districts

Posted Date: 06/29/26 (11:07 AM)

Infographic detailing upcoming changes to Mississippi's school and district grading system, highlighting key takeaways and PGSD's commitment.

Important Update from MDE
Big changes are coming to how Mississippi measures school success. The accountability grades that schools and districts will receive for this past 2025-2026 school year will reflect new, higher academic standards set by the Mississippi Department of Education.
Because the state has raised the bar, this year will serve as a "reset year" and a new baseline for measuring future progress. While this means school grades statewide may look a little different, even with the same great student performance, our focus remains entirely on continuous improvement and celebrating our students' hard work!
We are incredibly proud of our PGSD students and staff, and we look forward to sharing our annual state assessment results with you this August.
