🥾Exploring Our Wetlands

Posted Date: 04/13/26 (12:17 PM)

An aquarium educator named Sabrina shows a child a model of a shark.
Our fifth graders traded the classroom for the great outdoors for our annual 'My Two Boots" event!

It was an action-packed day of exploration as students hiked through the wetlands at Gautier High School, stopping at 9 different interactive stations. From uncovering the secrets of coastal ecology to tracking how pollution moves through our waterways, our young scientists got a hands-on look at the environment we call home.

Seeing the next generation of environmental stewards in action is always a highlight of the year. A huge thank you to the educators and volunteers who made this trek such a success!
